Job Description

Seeking experienced Kaimahi Hauoras/Homecare Support Workers for our client in Ashburton!

About the Role

As a Support Worker/Kaimahi Hauora, you'll be at the forefront of providing essential support to our client with a spinal cord injury in their home and within the community.

We are looking to fill 6-to-9-hour shifts from Mondays to Thursdays between 9am and 6pm.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Assistance with medication, mobility assistance, and daily household duties.
  • Build meaningful relationships with Clients/Kiritaki and their whanau/family.
  • Work closely with our clinical staff and consultants to ensure high-quality care and effective support.
  • Assist our client to access community resources and activities.

What We're Looking For

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in homecare support
  • Strong communication abilities in English
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Respectful, adaptable, proactive, professional, active and trustworthy.
  • Understanding of the unique challenges and needs associated with people living with a long term injury or disability

Essential:

  • Working towards or already holding a NZQA Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate
  • License and Vetting: A full driver's license, a clean police vet result, and satisfactory references.
