Our Legal Team plays a critical role in supporting this mission by providing high-quality legal advice across a wide range of environmental, public, and administrative law matters.
We are seeking a Solicitor with strong litigation experience to join our collaborative and high-performing Legal Team. This role will see you working on complex and high-profile litigation, including judicial reviews, Waitangi Tribunal proceedings, and other public law matters. You will also contribute to the Ministry's legislative and policy development work, ensuring legal risk is well managed and decisions are robust.

To be successful in the role you will need:
- a law degree
- a current NZLS practising certificate (or current eligibility to obtain one)
- some experience in public law
- experience in managing litigation and working closely with Crown Law and internal clients
- excellent analytical skills and a proven ability to apply legal concepts
- excellent communication skills, both oral and written, which enable you to deal effectively with key stakeholder relationships
- a proven ability to effectively handle competing priorities and tight time frames
- commitment to developing your cultural capability and capacity in te ao Māori.
- 2-5 years' post-qualification experience
Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
Salary range for this role is $90,160 to $109,279 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
