Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Our Legal, Privacy & Ethics team are responsible for the provision of high quality legal, privacy and ethics advice and services across ACC. The Legal Operations team are the centralised point for providing support to ensure efficient and effective legal, privacy and ethics service delivery.

This newly created Legal Executive role will be a dedicated support resource for the team that manages ACC's litigation portfolio and plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our litigation processes are efficient, thorough, and aligned with our organisational goals. The Legal Executive is essential for the delivery of high-quality legal and litigation services that meet ACC's responsibilities and needs including to its clients.

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Efficiently manage and progress ACC's portfolio of litigation cases.
  • Assist in the instruction of external counsel, including preparing, copying, and distributing litigation files.
  • Maintain information resources and share insights, collaborating across Legal, Privacy & Ethics.
  • Legal research.
  • Be a primary point of contact for the Courts and counsel, providing regular updates on case progression and addressing any queries or concerns they may have.
  • Provide administrative support and general administrative assistance including litigation file management, bundle preparation and diarising of events.
  • Updating cases in client management and workflow technology systems.

The work you do has a direct impact in ensuring ACC meets its responsibilities and supports the organisational strategy, ensuring a sustainable future where we work in partnership to support all people in Aotearoa, New Zealand to stay safe and recover from the impacts of injury.

This is a permanent, Wellington based role.

The base salary range for this role is $73,196 - $103,336 with appointment depending on skills and experience and internal relativities. ACC also offers 9% superannuation on top of base salary.

Mōu | About you

We're looking for someone proactive and confident with a collaborative and flexible approach. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong prioritisation ability and a keen eye for detail and accuracy. You will be able to demonstrate a depth of understanding and experience in litigation processes, legal research techniques, and court procedures.

A legal executive qualification is required for this role.
