We are currently looking for qualified Line Mechanics to join one of New Zealand’s largest electricity distribution businesses at their Head Office in Hastings. Our client is proud to be community owned for over 90 years and have offices across Hawke’s Bay, Taupo, and Rotorua. Our client has qualified professionals who are skilled in areas such as design work, project management and power line audits/upgrades.
An exciting opportunity is now available for a highly capable and equally experienced individual to join a dynamic team as a Line Mechanic. The purpose of this role is to install new equipment and services to both overhead lines and underground cables, and repair and restore fault damaged lines, cables, and equipment.
Key responsibilities:
- Comply with quality requirements including adhering to internal and external policies, procedures, or standards
- Comply with the Company’s Health and Safety requirements
- Provide services such as fault response, cable laying and vegetation as required
- Maintaining and overhauling transmission and distribution lines as well as constructing/replacing damaged lines
- Complete documentation relevant to the performance of duties
Ideal candidate:
- Line Mechanic Certificate
- Minimum of five years as a Line Mechanic or Trainee Line Mechanic
- No colour blindness
- Physically fit
- Committed to supporting the company in achieving their vision
- Foreperson experience would be a bonus but not necessary
