About the position:
This is a varied and physical welding/fabrication role focused on maintaining and repairing the essential machinery and infrastructure that keeps our operation moving. No two days will be the same — you’ll work with:
- Mild and galvanised steel (bins, containers, fencing, etc.)
- Occasional stainless and aluminium (specialised parts)
- MIG and Stick welding as primary methods
What will you be doing
- Welding and fabricating steel and aluminium components and site equipment
- Conducting mechanical repairs on a wide variety of machinery
- Maintaining workshop organisation, tools, and consumables
- Supporting operations with setups, maintenance, and occasional machine use
- Championing health and safety in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Mentoring others in welding best practices as needed
- Proven experience in welding and fabrication (3+ years ideally)
- A welding ticket (preferred)
- Strong MIG, Stick welding skills
- Mechanically minded and physically fit
- Able to travel + Current full driver’s licence
- NZ resident/citizen / full work rights
