Salary Range: $158,916 to $186,209 depending on skills and experience
Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced manager to lead MPI's dynamic Architecture and Assurance team in our Business Technology & Information Services (BT&IS) directorate in Corporate Services.
MPI is on a path to adopt cloud technology so that realisation of business goals is more rapid and more sustainable. In turn, supporting MPI to provide more value-adding services to the Food and Fibre sector. Delivering technology architecture and associated roadmaps and solutions is critical to MPI's success.
You will be responsible for the architecture practice at MPI, including the development of people, policies, & practices, as well as the development of business technology roadmaps that are aligned to MPI's digital strategy.
Leadership aspects of this position will include:
- Reporting to the Deputy Chief Digital Officer, you will lead a team of 8 direct reports and a total team of 15
- Lead the development of a high-performing architecture practice through staff development, performance management, and stakeholder engagement
- Develop practices, frameworks, and standards that support an efficient and proactive architecture service
- Provide technology leadership to the Architecture team and across MPI, in line with the digital strategy, to support business goals
Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that sufficient architecture capacity is available to support business demands
- Developing and maintaining technology current and future states for MPI business units and to support investment planning
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key business stakeholders and MPI's managed service providers, government agencies, and suppliers
- Working collaboratively across BT&IS to support delivery of technology services
- Responsibility for Architecture Governance and ensuring roadmaps, patterns, practices, and solution designs are appropriately reviewed, consulted, and approved through relevant governance bodies
- Ensuring the proper use and accuracy of data and architectures captured in LeanIX to facilitate a proper catalogue of MPI's technology environment
Success in this role will be demonstrated through:
- Positive interactions and feedback across MPI on architecture delivery and team members
- The Manager Architecture is recognised as an enabler of business success and BT&IS delivery
- A reliable source of truth of MPI's technology environment that supports analysis and planning in support of business needs
- Fostering a positive team culture
Mōu - About You
You will likely have worked within and/or managed an Architecture function in a government agency. You may be responsible for a small group of architects and are looking to step up into a Head of Architecture or Architecture Manager position.
We're looking for someone who has a deep understanding (10+ years) of technology and business and how architecture supports an organisation's success. You will have a background in solution development and delivery, and a demonstrable knowledge of architecture delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology and/or 15+ years of similar experience.

Your technical skills will include:
- Development of technology architectures and roadmaps

- A background in technology and/or management consulting
