Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We're looking for a Manager Revenue and Refunds to lead the team responsible for the collection, reconciliation, and refunding of key revenue streams at NZTA Waka Kotahi. In this role, you'll ensure the integrity and efficiency of our revenue systems and processes, contributing to the financial health of one of New Zealand's largest public sector organisations.

You will:

  • Lead and coach a team of Finance Officers to deliver high-quality financial operations
  • Oversee revenue collection, disbursement, and refund processes
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and business obligations
  • Collaborate across teams to improve systems and processes
  • Maintain robust internal controls and manage fraud risk
  • Support business continuity and knowledge sharing

Ko koe tēnei | About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience leading financial processing teams in high-volume environments
  • Expertise in public sector accounting and revenue management
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and internal controls
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A collaborative, improvement-focused mindset
  • Tertiary qualification (preferably postgraduate) in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as it applies in the public service.

You'll be part of the Te Ama - Commercial and Corporate group, within the Financial Operations team. Our purpose is to provide sound commercial and financial services that enable NZTA Waka Kotahi to deliver on its strategic objectives. The Revenue & Refunds team ensures robust and efficient revenue collection processes are in place to support this.
