This is a fixed term role working within one of New Zealand's most trusted organisations.

 

Mō tēnei tūranga - About the role:

The Manager Wellbeing reports to the National Manager Safety Health and Wellbeing within Fire and Emergency New Zealand, delivering comprehensive and nationally consistent safety, health and wellbeing programmes and initiatives.  Responsible for a team of 7x Wellbeing Advisors, you will provide leadership to the delivery of the wellbeing programme of work across their regions.

Working closely with other leaders you will be fostering consistent standards of practice and overseeing training and education to help strengthen the wellbeing culture across the country.

Building upon already established Wellbeing foundations, utilise your knowledge to help make a real difference to our organisation!

 

This is a fixed term position from ASAP through to 30 June 2026. 

 

There will be a requirement to travel across regions upon occasion.

 

Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role:

Experience working within a wellbeing environment, ideally within a large organisation with a dispersed workforce. Strong people management skills with the ability to manage remote teams with a fun, light-hearted and positive approach whilst providing mentorship and coaching.  Having worked across a breadth of different industries, you will have developed the ability to communicate to a wide range of people within an organisation, build strong working relationships and adapt your communication style to your audience. Working autonomously whilst maintaining engagement with centralised functions is a must.

 

To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will have: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum of 5 years experience within the wellbeing (or similar) sector
  • Proven leadership, mentoring and coaching skills
  • Experience in supporting psychological wellbeing following exposure to critical incidents
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to analyse data and provide insight into performance
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement of Wellbeing systems and processes
  • Ability to create, influence, change, embed and champion Wellbeing
  • Experience in facilitating and developing risk assessments
  • Experience working within a large, complex organisation

The salary range for this role is $136,874-$152,082 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
