Kaitohutohu Whakatairanga me Whakawhiti Kōrero Marketing and Communications Advisor, Tohu Whenua – Ref 265

Permanent part-time position (24 hours per week)

Tohu Whenua: Landmarks that tell our stories is a tourism and regional economic development programme that connects New Zealanders and international visitors with Aotearoa New Zealand's cultural heritage by promoting places of historical significance that offer high quality visitor experiences. The programme is a joint national initiative of Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage, Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai and Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga with support from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment Hīkina Whakatutuki and Te Puni Kōkiri Ministry of Māori Development. Tohu Whenua is delivered by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga.

 

Tohu Whenua currently operates in three regions with a fourth launching soon, and more to come. The Kaitohutohu Whakatairanga me Whakawhiti Kōrero Marketing and Communications Advisor will lead communications with internal and external audiences with a strong emphasis on digital marketing. This will involve managing social media channels, developing tourism-oriented content for digital and print media, preparing regular communications for our partners and stakeholders, and supporting campaigns and events.

The ideal candidate has a range of skills in both marketing and communications and can switch easily between the two disciplines, bringing their creative flair along for the ride. They have a well-stocked toolbox particularly when it comes to the digital space, an awareness of trends in travel and tourism marketing, and lots of good ideas to help us grow our audience. We are a small team with lots to do and a range of partners and stakeholders so we are looking for a team player who is adaptable, agile and positive.
