About the role:
You’ll design mechanical systems from concept through to manufacturing, ensuring accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with standards. You’ll create 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs), and work closely with production, procurement, and other teams to solve problems and improve processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and scope mechanical design concepts.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
• Validate designs through calculations, simulations, and testing.
• Work with other departments to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
• Suggest improvements to designs and processes.
• Follow health, safety, and quality standards.
What You’ll Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
• 3+ years’ mechanical design experience, ideally in manufacturing or product development.
• Skilled in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing.
• Experience with BOM creation and ERP systems.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Right to work in NZ, police check, and a clean drug test.
