About the Role

As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will assist in the receipt, documentation, registration, processing of all specimens, including those referred to other laboratories, as required by authorized policies and protocols. You will also be required to perform other technical and operational duties normally expected of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), such as those related to efficient and effective operations of the Pathology service.

 

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team consists of scientists, technicians, pathologists and secretaries who all provide a vital role within Anatomical Pathology in order to achieve the correct diagnosis for the patients.  We are a friendly team who look out for each other and socialise together. The laboratory has just moved into a purpose-built state of the art facility providing an airy and spacious environment for our team to enjoy together, situated near some of the best beaches in New Zealand.

About you

  • Medical Laboratory Technician with registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Experience working within a Pathology laboratory
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Whilst not essential, previous experience in a healthcare setting, recent experience working within an Anatomical Pathology department or microtomy experience is advantageous.
