About the role

Join Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland’s Whitinga Ora Pēpi Newborn Transitional Care Unit—a innovative service supporting late preterm infants and their whānau in their transition from hospital to home. This is an exciting chance to work in one of Australasia’s largest maternity hospitals, delivering specialist care for over 6,500 babies born annually.

As a Registered Midwife, you will:

  • Provide high-risk postnatal care and specialist support for late preterm pēpi and their whānau.
  • Lead care planning, admission, and discharge processes to ensure seamless whānau-centred care.
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary 24/7 service environment.

About you

  • Current registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand (or Nursing Council with interest in midwifery qualification).
  • Experience in postnatal care, particularly with late preterm infants.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A passion for whānau-centred care and improving health equity.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
