Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.

About the Role

We have an opportunity for a National Manager, Regional Programme to join our Intelligence team in a key leadership role. This is a critical strategic and delivery role where you will develop the strategic direction and operational Intelligence work programme for NPHS Regions, focusing on requirements, products and services to support regional directorates and teams.

The primary purpose of the role is to develop and maintain trusted relationships and ways of working with Regional strategic and operational partners, including clinical leadership. You will contribute to the ongoing establishment and delivery of work programmes in the Intelligence Directorate by providing advice, support and oversight across the NPHS intelligence work programme and within the Intelligence Leadership Team. You will also provide support to the National Managers and their teams in providing Intelligence products and services to the Regional Directors and the broader NPHS Regional teams.

About the Team/Service/Location

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, works towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

The Intelligence Directorate is a population and public health operational Intelligence team that is nationally and regionally networked, and collaborative across organisations and agencies.

We have three core responsibilities: to lead, coordinate, oversee and deliver actionable information and insights to support public health services and programmes; to drive system-level uplift to support high quality data and analytics services; and to lead and inform decision-making by anticipating future health challenges and potential options for intervention.

This is a hugely exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of our technological advances in public health intelligence, and leverage from our new NPHS data platform and the opportunities of integrated datasets.

About you

As a national manager you are expected to be a present, visible leader, committed to fostering an in-person (where feasible) environment and culture. You are able to think strategically and be excited to innovate. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across NPHS to plan, develop and deliver high-quality products and services aligned with the strategic aims of the Directorate, and that meet our partners' requirements. You will be comfortable with ambiguous and fast-paced environments and will manage the geographically-dispersed team and the work programmes with rigour, reliability, and enthusiasm.
