About the Role

  • We are seeking a passionate, committed Neurologist to join our dynamic, progressive, and multidisciplinary department at Rotorua and Taupo Hospitals.
  • Neurology specialist functions include:
  • Diagnosis and management of neurological disorders, complex epilepsy, movement disorders, and neuromuscular conditions,
  • Inpatient consults and outpatient neurology care,
  • Participation in regional neurology networks to enhance patient care,
  • Opportunities to develop local neurological services based on community needs.

About the Team/Service/ Location

  • The successful applicant will be involved in the regular provision of neurology clinics in Rotorua and Taupo, alongside contributing to Rotorua Hospital inpatient unit consultations.

About you

  • Experience in stroke care, epilepsy management, and movement disorders is highly advantageous.
  • Strong team player with a professional, energetic, and driven approach to work.
  • Curious mind, self-motivated, and an active participant in ongoing improvement.
  • Must be eligible for Specialist Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
  • An interest in further developing local specialist services to meet the needs of a rapidly growing and culturally diverse population.
  • Experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Actively participate in the education and training of undergraduate and postgraduate medical, nursing, and allied health staff.
