About the role

Our Surgical Ward is a diverse and dynamic environment where staff are valued and respected for the knowledge and skills they bring, a place where knowledge and skills are shared in a supportive manner.

We are looking for a Nurse Educator to step into this permanent, part-time role to continue to support new and existing staff within the Surgical Ward with the provision of education, training and resources that ensure practice is current, evidence based and fit for purpose.

A born communicator and collaborator, with the inherent ability to build successful working relationships, this role will see you working alongside nurses, medical colleagues as well as other educators within the wider PDU team to provide practice and professional development opportunities that enhance service delivery, quality and safety alongside improved patient outcomes.

Participating in the recruitment of new nurses, developing and implementing their orientation programme is all part of the job. About you

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Current and considerable post registration experience in surgical nursing
  • Professional credibility in the clinical setting
  • Confidence and passion for supporting and developing our nurses
  • First-rate knowledge of the professional standards and regulations for nurses
  • Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

It is essential that you are a Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate, either hold or be working towards an appropriate postgraduate qualification, and hold or be working towards PDRP.
