  • Salary band - $136,815 - $162,802 p.a pro-rata and KiwiSaver
  • 1 FTE/80 hours per fortnight

About the role:

  • Lead a dynamic team of Charge Nurse Managers and specialty nurses with the Medical Directorate
  • Lead and manage the team providing clinical leadership and professional support
  • Support ongoing nursing workforce development
  • Support and implement research
  • Lead and support patient flow initiatives across Dunedin Hospital
  • Provide prudent financial management of the nursing budget
  • Participate in the Regional Acute Medicine network working towards agreed models of care and service provision across Te Wai Pounamu
  • Provide operational and strategic nursing input aligned with the regional Te Wai Pounamu Acute Medicine Care network
  • Delivery of the operational nursing model within acute medicine in the Medical Directorate working in a multidisciplinary model
  • Foster a culture of innovation and strategic thinking
  • Collaborate with a strong Nursing Leadership team across Dunedin Hospital
  • Engage and effect change where and when required

About you:

  • Proven experience in building effective teams and developing direct reports
  • Proven leadership capability
  • Demonstrate and maintain significant knowledge and sound experience within the acute medicine and patient flow setting and be familiar with the health and disability sector
  • Be committed to equitable health care
  • Hold registered nurse registration and a current APC
  • Hold or be actively working towards a relevant master's level academic qualification
  • Hold or be working on a Senior Nurse PDRP

Salary range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the DSN Pay Scale, Grade 6 between Step 1 $136,815 and Step 4 $162,802 p.a dependent on relevant experience.
