About the Role

This role is full-time, 1 FTE and takes place over a standard working week. The rTMS will be offered over consecutive weekdays for a course of between 20 and 30 treatments. There will be an expectation that the tRMS Nurse Specialist will also cover the ECT Nurse Specialist for leave.

The work is complex and challenging, and we are seeking a skilled and adaptive practitioner who has a sound grasp of the mental health conditions that benefit from rTMS and ECT as treatment modalities. Position Description here

We are happy to consider a secondment from within or outside Te Toka Tumai. Remuneration will be at Grade 3 of the senior nursing scale of the Mental Health & Public Nursing (PSA) MECA. Employment agreements – Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Neurostimulation service is based at Auckland City Hospital and comprises of a Consultant Psychiatrist and two Nurse Specialists. The team offers the neurostimulation treatments of ECT and rTMS to the population of Te Toka Tumai and this can include both inpatient and outpatient whaiora.

About you

As a Nurse Specialist your role will be, with the consultant, the assessment of whaiora as to their suitability for rTMS from a mental health perspective. Coordination of treatment sessions through liaison with other departments, liaison with whanau and education of other clinical staff involved in the care of someone having rTMS.

Essential requirements:

· New Zealand nursing registration

· Achieved L3 or L4 PDRP

· Postgraduate certificate /diploma in specialty nursing practice.

· Master’s Degree or working towards completion of Master’s degree.

· Leadership and patient/client management skills
