Position: Plant Nursery Worker (Temporary)
Working Hours:
We’re seeking a dedicated individual to join the team working in a local plant nursery in Masterton. This position involves plenty of physical work, including planting, maintaining, and caring for a wide variety of plants. Whilst this role also has a customer serving element, dealing with customers who are purchasing plants from the nursery so professionalism and a friendly, approachable manner are essential.

- Tuesday to Friday: 9:30am to 4:00pm
- Saturday: 8:00am to 12:00pm
- Total Weekly Hours: 28 hours

This position involves plenty of physical work, including planting, maintaining, and caring for a wide variety of plants. Whilst this role also has a customer serving element, dealing with customers who are purchasing plants from the nursery so professionalism and a friendly, approachable manner are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer serving skills are essential for handling sales of plants
- Professional mannerisms for dealing with customers
- Assist with the daily care and maintenance of plants, including planting, potting, and watering
- General nursery upkeep including weeding, mulching, and fertilising
- Physical tasks such as lifting and moving plant trays, bags of soil, and other materials
- Work alongside the team to ensure the smooth running of the nursery operations
- A strong work ethic and willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved
- Ability to work well in a physically demanding environment
- Punctual, reliable, and a team player
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or a similar field would be an advantage, but not essential
