Mō te tūranga - About the role
We have a fixed-term, part-time opportunity for a NZ registered Occupational Therapist,the position is suitable for an experienced therapist who has an interest in working with the paediatric population.
The Child Development Service is a team of experienced Allied Health therapists who work with children and their families who live in the Coastal Otago region. We are a child and whānau focused service and as such we work in both centre and community settings. The centre is based at Dunedin Hospital which is centrally located in Dunedin City.
Mōu ake - About you
This position would suit an Occupational Therapist who is keen to work as part of a team and can provide a whānau and child focused approach. Your work would consist of developmental assessments, designing and implementing individual therapy sessions, and devising therapy plans for children with developmental delay and complex needs in Outpatients and/or a range of community settings to best meet the needs of the child/whānau.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential. An equity lens is expected within all aspects of your work and a willingness to learn, and grow is key.
In this role you'll have the opportunity to use your clinical reasoning skills, excellent time management, communication and problem-solving skills in an outpatient clinic or community setting.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a Child Development Service with a dynamic team and strong support.
You must hold an annual practising certificate and NZ full Drivers Licence.

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and sits between Step 1 ($77,842 p.a pro-rata) to Step 8 (110,210 p.a pro rata) and upwards of the Allied, Public Health Scientific and Technical scale.
