Job Description

Organisational Development & Transformation Manager

  • Newly formed role and an opportunity to take ownership
  • Invercargill-based

In partnership with its community, Environment Southland (Regional Council) is responsible for the sustainable management of Southland’s natural resources – land, water, air and coast. Council operates in a large geographical region from Stewart Island to Fiordland.
Newly created after a recent organisational redesign process, this Manager role will lead a small team to drive transformational change throughout the organisation.  This will involve developing and delivering initiatives relating to transformational change, organisational culture, leadership, engagement, employer brand and internal communications.

Reporting to the General Manger, People and Governance, this is a critical leadership role.  To be considered, you must have breadth and depth of experience in organisational development and change management ideally gained from working in complex or larger organisations. You will be an experienced people manager, and you must have an interest or background working in the context of te Tiriti o Waitangi. Working at Environment Southland requires all staff to uphold the council’s Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsibilities as part of their day-to-day role. A qualification in psychology or OD or similar would also be desirable.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a newly formed function and create change and opportunity.  Come and join a great team doing outstanding work for their community and the environment. A generous package will be on offer that includes above-average leave provision, relocation assistance, and flexibility.
