Health New Zealand - Te Tai o Poutini West Coast is seeking a dynamic and experienced Older Persons Health & Disability (OPH&D) Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership of services for older people and people with disabilities across the region.
This role plays a pivotal leadership position in shaping high-quality, person-centred care delivery that aligns with national health strategies and local community needs. About the Role
As the OPH&D Manager, you will:
- Provide strategic oversight of Health NZ-delivered Older People and Disability Services on the West Coast.
- Lead and manage the Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) functions for people with disabilities, their families, and carers.
- Support the operational management of our Greymouth-based aged care facility, ensuring services meet Aged Residential Care (ARC) sector standards.
- Champion equitable access to personalised support plans and services that promote independence, participation, and improved quality of life.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering excellent care and outcomes for our older and disabled population.
About you
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in a leadership/management role within the older persons health and/or disability sector.
- In-depth knowledge of the Healthy Ageing Strategy and disability service delivery models.
- Demonstrated fiscal management experience and the ability to lead and implement change effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with expertise in conflict resolution, negotiation, and team building.
- Excellent organisational, administrative, and time management skills.
- Technologically competent, with the ability to utilise and extend IT capabilities.
- Committed to cultural responsiveness and equity, with a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to apply its principles in practice.
- A full, clean driver - s licence.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Registered Health Professional with a current practicing certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience, ideally in older persons or disability care.
- Experience in restorative models of care that support independence and well-being.
- Prior experience in clinical governance and leading interdisciplinary teams.
- Postgraduate qualification in management, leadership, or a related health discipline.
- Strong understanding of health and disability funding and service models.
