Te Papa's leaders and kaimahi are ably supported by the People, Safety & Culture team who work in partnership with all directorates to develop initiatives ad resolve business issues in relation to Te Papa's people, culture and HR practices. The range of tō tīma, our teams, is diverse from those people who are renown specialists in their fields, to those managing specialist art and historical collections, to creative and interactive exhibition building, to event management and front of house mahi. It takes collaborative and innovative frameworks, products and services to support all of this important mahi on behalf of the people of Aotearoa.
We have identified two new OD Business Partner roles in the People, Safety & Culture team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will be joining one other OD colleague. Together, the three OD Business Partners will develop strategic talent and capabilities approaches to build a high performance culture. An important aspect to your success will be the collaboration you have with your colleagues in the People Advisory team to help translate these into practical implementation plans.
The work is broad and opportunities are plenty to bring your strategic thinking, research and insights, knowledge and practice to the fore. We are looking for bold and interesting ways to bring about behavioural change, address people management challenges, and shift established behaviour. You will be working collaboratively with the wider team, leaders and kaimahi to figure out what people-centred methods and approaches will work best.
We are looking for your expertise, experience, confidence and understanding of:
- HR/OD practice and leading contemporary practice, research and technology solutions in leadership capability, talent strategy, organisation culture, diversity & inclusion, cultural capability, leadership development, values, engagement, organisational wellbeing.
- How people think, behave, communicate, learn and are motivated.
- Leading organisational change.
- Building own and others Te Ao Māori and tikanga Māori capability.
- Tailoring products and services to meet different needs of a diverse workforce in a people-centred way.
- Leveraging technology to implement OD services.
- Developing initiatives designed to effect long-term culture and behaviour change.
- Planning, leading and delivering significant and complex pieces of work that will bring people on the journey to successfully implement change using your interpersonal and facilitation skills.
Biculturalism is a founding philosophy and practice of Te Papa designed to explore the contribution of Māori language and culture to the life, culture and activities of the museum in small and large ways. Te Papa fosters and nurtures cross-cultural capability, the ability of people of different cultural backgrounds to interact with one another in positive and uplifting ways. We look to our leaders to live and support this capability.
The starting salary for this position is between $111,500 to $133,000 pa with further room for progression within the band. Offers will be made within the range to reflect the skills and experience offered by the candidate and those required of the role, and internal relativities with other employees.
