Ngā kawenga | About the role
This role provides an exciting opportunity to expand and grow your skills while making a difference within the Custodial Services space. As the Personal Assistant/Business Support Coordinator to the Deputy Commissioner for Men's (Northern), you will deliver effective administrative and business support to both the Deputy Commissioner and their broader team. You will be entrusted with a range of administrative tasks that will help ensure the smooth operation and overall success of a vital team with a common purpose.
Your day to day will consist of key activities such as:
- Managing the Deputy Commissioner's (DC) diary and appointments schedule and organising of team meetings.
- Maintaining the DC's working papers, files and “bring up” systems including electronic file management and meeting packs
- Providing word processing services as required by the DC
- Actively identifying processes or systems that could be simplified or enhanced.
- Establishing and maintaining professional working relationships and networks with a diverse range of people.
- Supporting the DC in staffing matters, including arranging calendars, HR administration, and monitoring progress;
- Supporting the DC, and facilitating the efficient response to requests for advice, approvals and information from the business

With a strong growth mindset and exceptional organisational skills, you will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, along with the ability to learn other applications integral to your role.
- Excellent proficiency in calendar management, with the skill to prioritise tasks and meetings based on importance and urgency.
- Prior experience with Content Manager 9 (CM9) is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the personal maturity to manage a range of relationships.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The mid-point of the salary range is $75,884 and the full range (85%-120%) is $64,502 - $91,061. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
