Job Description
Use your expertise to deliver practical, people-first HR advice that makes a real impact. Lead ER end to end in a high-trust, grounded team.
Love ER? Here’s your chance to take ownership of it!
A wonderful opportunity for a confident Senior HR Advisor or ER Advisor to step into a fixed-term contract (circa 6–12 months) covering parental leave. You'll work in a supportive and high-trust environment where you’ll manage ER end to end, while also getting involved in generalist HR initiatives.
If you have experience in professional services, banking, or insurance sectors and enjoy delivering practical, legally sound HR advice with a focus on ER, this role will suit you well.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing employment relations cases from start to finish — misconduct, absenteeism, performance, investigations, and outcomes.
- Providing confident, practical advice across the employee lifecycle — onboarding, development, performance, and offboarding.
- Drafting accurate and compliant documentation — IEAs, policies, formal letters, and peer reviewing for others.
- Partnering with people leaders to build capability and navigate people matters.
- Analysing HR data to spot trends and support decision-making.
- Supporting generalist HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong ER experience — comfortable managing performance and disciplinary cases end to end.
- In-depth understanding of NZ employment legislation and policy application.
- Generalist HR experience across contracts, onboarding, and performance processes.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- A calm, resilient, and solutions-focused approach.
- A grounded, collaborative style — someone who others want to work with.
- Fixed-term contract: Full-time parental leave cover for 6–12 months.
- Flexible work options: 1 day WFH per week + flexi hours.
- CBD-based office with great public transport options.
- Work in a highly regarded organisation with strong DEI values.
- Join a warm, professional team that takes pride in doing great work - they are real people, doing good things!
