We - re looking for a Personal Assistant (PA) to join our Specialist Mental Health Services (SMHS) team, supporting the Divisional Leadership Team (DLT) in their vital work across our region.
About the Role
As the Personal Assistant to the Divisional Leadership Team, you'll play a central role in enabling and supporting effective leadership and coordination across the SMHS division.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to Band 5 / Profile 5

This role will see you:
- Provide high-level administrative support to DLT members - including diary management, minute taking, agenda preparation, and travel bookings
- Coordinate communication and engagement with teams across SMHS and wider Health NZ Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury
- Support the implementation of strategic priorities and contribute to building strong leadership capability
- Help align communication and planning efforts, ensuring information flows smoothly and efficiently between the DLT, the wider organisation, and stakeholders
- Assist the DLT in bringing to life the SMHS Leadership Ngā Pou Aronui values in their daily work
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a similar PA or senior administrative role
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Initiative and strong problem-solving ability
- High levels of discretion and confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- A calm, professional, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A commitment to quality outcomes and continuous improvement
