Allied Concrete is a business within the HW Richardson Group (HWR). The business is a leading supplier of an extensive range of ready mixed Concrete Solutions for the commercial and residential construction industry. Allied Concrete’s plant engineers also provide support services to other affiliated concrete businesses and industry partners.
  
This role reports to the National Technical Manager and is an integral member of the national network of Plant Engineers, Plant Managers, Branch Managers, and teams, who enable Allied Concrete leadership in the market. To this end, the role contributes to strategic, commercial, and operational initiatives of the national business.
  
Dedication to the Plant Engineering function includes responsibility for the quality of approximately 160,000 m3 of concrete, produced by 7 plants throughout the Southern Region.
  
While the serviced location is the Southern Region; there is flexibility where the Plant Engineer is based. The business would also support relocation to a convenient location.
   
The core focus of the role is to maintain and enhance Allied Concrete’s reputation as a supplier of quality concrete by ensuring that all production meets or exceeds required standards and that customers are provided with solutions that maximize their competitive positions.
  
Key competency areas are:

  • Quality Compliance – concrete production meets NZ 3104: 2021 and Concrete NZ audit scheme requirements
  • Performance Focus – materials, WIP and final product tests, audit, and report, mitigate and resolve issues.
  • Market Development – New product development activities realise delivery and opportunity objectives.
  • Technical Leadership – collaborate with engineering, sales, plants, Regulatory and community to coach, advise and problem solve.
  • Health, Safety and Environment Compliance – compliance to operations, systems, and people HSE regulations.
  • Financial Management – manage and report on functional expenditure budget.
  • Relationship Management – engage in collaborative style with company, industry and community connections.
  • System Support and Development – IT, Document Control, Reporting and Analysis.

We are seeking a technical product and process expert who has a dedicated focus on quality and efficiency in engineering, manufacturing and construction processes of building structures. Appreciation of delivery to customers and the overall market, together with a collaborative style and great people and relationship management skills is important. Relevant qualifications together with strong programme and project management skills is also important.
