The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
The Principal Advisor, Community Road Safety Fund will manage the Community Road Safety Fund, including the implementation of the future state for the Fund, working in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
The Fund plays an important role by investing in community-led road safety initiatives through a grants programme. This position is an exciting opportunity to be part of the continued success of the Fund.
You will be a champion for the value of community-based initiatives. You will ensure the Fund has a strategy aligned to organisational and Government priorities, and best practice operating practices that are efficient and effective.
The role is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day administration of the Fund, including promotion of the Fund and its achievements, working collaboratively with community partners, and monitoring the Fund's performance.
A strong focus of this role is continuous improvement, so a mindset geared toward its ongoing development and innovation is essential.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring:
- extensive experience working within and/or managing community grant programmes
- proven experience in leading the development and implementation of a strategic or change programme of work
- proven ability to problem solve complex challenges
- financial management and procurement experience
- strong writing ability and communication skills including governance/board paper preparation
- proven experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a diverse range of stakeholders, senior managers and their teams
