About the role | Mō te tūnga

The Principal Advisor Health Outcomes reports to the General Manager Health and Clinical Services.  The Health and Clinical services group provides specialised assessment, intervention, care and support to individuals with high and complex needs.  The group also has oversight of the provision of health services by external parties for children in Oranga Tamariki care.

This is a diverse and varied role that provides strategic advice to the Health and Clinical Service leadership team and across the wider organisation to ensure we are meeting the health needs of tamariki and rangatahi involved with Oranga Tamariki. This is a senior position that is a member the Health and Clinical Services leadership team.

The Principal Advisor will take an evidence-based data driven approach to providing analysis and assessment of the current performance in meeting the health needs of tamariki and rangatahi in our care.  The role will draw on internal and external evidence to guide the development of internal services and shape our expectations of health and disability services for children and young people in our care.  It will also provide critical advice to the Clinical Governance Committee about current performance, and opportunities to lift performance to improve health outcomes.

 

What you will bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu

The ideal candidate for this role will have considerable experience in policy, strategy, research or planning in a health setting.  You will have experience working strategically and applying critical thinking in the development of high-quality advice, information and analysis regarding improving health outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi.  You will have expertise in leading health system monitoring, including the development of measurement approaches or frameworks. 

You will also have a sound understanding of public policy and the machinery of Government, with a demonstrated knowledge of political administrative processes and structures.
