We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Advisor to join the Office of the Deputy Secretary Corporate Services.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a plan for our complex business group. You will also create systems to provide oversight and tracking of our performance, so we know if our work is having the strategic and operational impact promised.

Through this you will enable our business group leadership team to have a future focus and inform decisions on how we can improve our performance. Your ability to present data and information clearly and build strategic relationships will be key to your success.

We seek someone who can apply their thought leadership and experience into our evolving environment. The plan you put in place will focus our resources on strategic outcomes, and the insights you develop through monitoring performance measures will us to adapt and improve as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • have strong experience in working with and implementing a performance framework in a context relevant to this opportunity
  • have significant hands-on experience developing and improving reporting, which includes performance measures
  • demonstrate the ability to analyse and interpret data and information to generate insights that inform strategic and operational decisions
  • be an experienced relationship manager who has worked with and influenced senior managers in large and complex public sector organisations
  • have experience with contributing to organisational reporting and machinery of government accountability processes

The Office provides services such as planning, performance reporting, execution of enterprise wide (Corporate Services) initiatives, as well as synchronizing the work of the business group ensuring that there are no surprises. The Office is responsible for ensuring quality outputs for machinery of government and governance processes and systems.

The Office works closely with the teams who focus on organisational strategy, planning and performance monitoring. You work will ensure that we can demonstrate the value of our corporate services, and progress we are making against our strategic intentions and outcomes.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $129,129 and $179,192 based on skills and experience.
