Mō te tūnga | About the role

As a Principal Strategic Analyst based at our National Office in Wellington, you will play a key part in transforming data into strategic insights that guide decision-making and influence business strategy. You will use advanced analytical methods to assess trends, identify key patterns, and evaluate the impact of various programmes and initiatives.

Your work will involve collaborating with internal teams to improve data management processes, ensuring that information is accurately captured, analysed, and communicated to key stakeholders. Through your analysis, you will help drive evidence-based decision-making and contribute to the ongoing development of initiatives aimed at improving outcomes in the justice sector.

This is a full-time, permanent role that offers an opportunity to use your analytical expertise to support positive change and improve the effectiveness of justice-related programmes, all while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

 

He kōrero mōu | About you

To thrive in this role, you will bring significant experience in data extraction and analysis, paired with expertise in strategic performance analysis tools and methodologies. You will be comfortable managing large datasets, ensuring accuracy and detail, and translating complex data into actionable strategic insights.

Your strong analytical skills will be complemented by exceptional communication abilities, allowing you to present your findings clearly and provide high-quality analytical advice. You will also be skilled in influencing decisions and making recommendations that drive positive change within the justice sector.

 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A strong understanding of data-driven strategic analysis
  • Advanced skills in analytical techniques within an Oracle SQL environment
  • Extensive experience with statistical and analytical tools, such as SAS or R
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate analysis and ideas.
  • Proven experience in providing strategic advice and critical thinking at a senior or principal level.

 

Utu ā-tau | Salary

The mid-point of the salary range is $141,651 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $120,404 - $169,982 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
