We are seeking a motivated and highly organised administrator to join a busy ministerial office as a Private Secretary (Administration). Working in the heart of the government, you will join a tight knit and trusted team who support the Minister as part of the 54th Parliament. It is interesting and rewarding work, offering a unique insight into the inner workings of government in a fascinating and fast-paced environment.
As a Private Secretary (Administration), your new role will see you provide a range of administrative support to the Minister and their team. In your new role you will help respond to a range of queries via email and over the phone, and in general will provide essential support in keeping things running smoothly. In this role, you could expect to undertake process-driven administrative tasks such as coordinating ministerial correspondence and travel, logging invitations and meeting requests and responding to stakeholders' requests and invitations.
This is an events-based, part time position for 20 hours a week. The likely appointment range for this role is $71,767 - $79,741 pro rated per annum, with starting salaries reflecting relevant skills and experience, as well as internal parity.

- Demonstrated experience providing administration, secretarial, and/or reception services
- An ability to work and solve problems at pace and a high level of resilience
- A good sense of humour with the ability to have a laugh and work both closely with your team and autonomously as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft programmes, you will bring your speedy typing skills, flair for multi-tasking and an eye for detail
- A passion for politics, and a desire to build your career in the heart of government
