Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Looking to the future and delivery of our ambitious strategy, our Enterprise Procurement team has evolved to create a Centre of Excellence to enable enhanced efficiency, stronger cross collaboration and greater impact. The newly created Procurement Improvement Lead is a strategically important leadership role for an experienced procurement professional that is critical to realising this vision and delivering on these opportunities.

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement Capability and Performance, the Procurement Improvement Lead role is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve, and maintaining ACC's procurement frameworks, policies, systems, and tools. This role actively supports continuous improvement efforts to drive consistency, compliance, and user experience and ensures procurement processes align with strategic priorities and compliance requirements.

You'll also oversee and maintain governance and reporting requirements, delivery of accurate, high-quality business insights, and support initiatives to strengthen provider performance and trust. You'll also lead procurement capability uplift, embedding best practice across teams and the organisation.

This role has one direct report and works closely with stakeholders across ACC and externally to ensure our procurement operations are efficient, transparent, and effective.

The base salary range for this role is $101,287 - $142,993 with appointment depending on skills and experience and internal relativities. ACC also offers 9% superannuation on top of base salary.

This is a permanent role, based in Wellington.

Mōu | About you

You'll be known as a curious problem-solver with a proven track record of leading procurement transformation.

We'll be looking for:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant commercial or procurement discipline, with relevant work experience at a senior level.
  • Strong experience in developing and implementing robust policies, procedures and system improvements that support business strategy and practices.
  • An understanding of assurance practices and how to build practical checks into procurement processes to manage risk and support smooth delivery.
  • Experience leading and managing people.
  • Experience in turning insights into initiatives to improve process, policy and relationships.
  • Ability to work strategically and influence outcomes across organisations and industry sectors.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, networking and stakeholder management skills, including excellent communication skills with the ability to present to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of the health sector and other relevant industry sectors.
  • Proven performance in the application of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi for the design of policies, systems, and processes.
