Job Description

Product Analyst – Service Design & Analysis

Be part of a collaborative team that shapes the foundations of digital services. This role sits within a Service Design & Analysis function, focused on the early ideation phase of product and service development. You’ll engage across the organisation to capture requirements, define processes, and turn business needs into actionable outcomes.

What you’ll do:
Working alongside Product Managers, Domain Architects, and operational teams, you’ll support the early stages of the product lifecycle — gathering insights, mapping processes, analysing data, and engaging with vendors and stakeholders to uncover dependencies and operating models. You’ll help ensure solutions are robust, user-focused, and well-defined from the outset.

Key capabilities we’re after:
You don’t need to tick every box — but experience across many of the following will help you succeed:

  • Defining product/service requirements and process mapping
  • Analysing and documenting functional and technical needs
  • Exploring data to inform decisions and uncover patterns
  • Leading workshops and synthesising diverse inputs
  • Delivering presentations that cut through complexity
  • Navigating ICT governance and security approval processes
  • Conducting risk and options analysis with practical outcomes
  • Translating business needs into clear documentation and recommendations

You’ll also bring:

  • A strong sense of initiative — comfortable working independently and in a team
  • Familiarity with agile delivery methods
  • The ability to move between multiple tasks and stakeholders with ease
  • Resilience in changing or ambiguous environments

Security requirement:
You must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Confidential (C) level security clearance or higher. This means you must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, and have a clear background check history.
