About the Role
As the Implementation Lead, you will be contributing to an exciting, high profile national implementation programme.
The Implementation Lead, Urgent Care will contribute to the expert, timely, cost-effective implementation of the National Urgent and After-hours Care Framework. The role will be responsible for developing the overall purchasing and procurement approach (in partnership with the procurement team) and leading contract negotiations (in partnership with regional teams).
About the Team/Service
The Urgent and Rural Care team within Planning, Funding and Outcomes is responsible for delivering on a complex programme of work including implementing the New and Improved Urgent and After-hours Care Framework, and key rural health priorities.

A detailed role description is available. Key characteristics of the successful candidate include :
- Demonstrated experience in leading procurement and contract negotiations.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a range of competing programme priorities using programme management methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience at a leadership level for developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific Peoples and groups.
- Demonstrated ability to think conceptually and anticipate the impact of decisions on long-term outcomes and develop/recommend responses in consultation with key stakeholders.
- The ability to compellingly communicate complex information and ideas in both oral and written communication to a range of audiences including senior management, Board and Ministers.
- Experience on rural and/or urgent care would be highly regarded.
