About the Role
We have the opportunity available to join the National Public Health Service (NPHS) Intelligence Directorate as a Project Manager. This is a fixed term (12 months), full-time role.
The Project Manager will work with the National Public Health Service Intelligence Directorate leadership team to deliver on organisational priorities and develop and implement the Intelligence Directorate work programme and projects. You will play a key in connecting across internal teams like; Intelligence, Protection, Prevention and Data & Digital, and external connections like ESR. You will also help shape the strategic direction of the Intelligence Directorate's work programme and projects, particularly where there is cross team or cross directorate alignment needed.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
About you
As a Project Manager, you are confident building relationships with relevant stakeholder groups as required to deliver on work priorities. You can identify project resource requirements and manage the allocation of resourcing in consultation with business owner and product manager. You're able to build rapport and have capacity to manage relationships at all levels, including senior officials and health sector leaders. You demonstrate initiative and have an agile approach to finding improved ways forward.
- Relevant professional project management qualification and or project management experience
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action and embedding equity in practice
- Experience in successfully delivering projects - preferably in a health context
- Experience working in a multi-project environment, working collaboratively and maintaining relationships across other workstreams
- Knowledge of the NZ Health Sector and/or relevant technical field
- Desired:
- PRINCE2 qualified or highly confident in project management methodology
- An understanding of public health service operational model would be an advantage
