Mō te tūnga | About the role
As the Project Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the strategic asset management elements of the Programme are delivered efficiently. This role involves proactively driving the delivery of projects by organising people and resources, setting deadlines and creating good quality project documentation.
You will need to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, manage consultancy contracts, and handle project finances. Additionally, you must be able to identify and manage project risks, ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, and maintain a focus on health, safety and wellbeing.
Project focus for this role will be:
- Delivery of horizontal infrastructure projects –There is a requirement to consistently deliver projects to a high standard within live custodial environments. These projects require a high degree of pre-planning, consistent delivery and excellent stakeholder communication skills. These projects are required to be delivered quickly and effectively.
- Prison Capacity - In response to this capacity challenge, Asset Management is delivering infrastructure solutions to expand prison capacity. The strategy involves the urgent implementation of smaller-scale capacity enhancements

To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Proven project management experience in assets, property, or construction, utilising best-practice methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Expertise in risk identification and resolution, demonstrating the ability to skilfully mitigate project risks and issues to ensure successful delivery
- Strong compliance monitoring and reporting skills, ensuring projects adhere to regulatory and organisational standards
- Experience within P3M3, change, and benefits frameworks
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to prepare reports, business cases, and convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Flexibility to travel as required
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $124,758 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $106,045 - $149,710 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
