About the role
As a key member of the Project Delivery and Portfolio Management (PDPM) team, the Project Manager plays a vital role in delivering projects that support the CAA’s strategic goals. This position oversees all aspects of project delivery from planning and budgeting to execution and closure ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
Using CAA’s Project Lifecycle framework, the Project Manager leads multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to a high standard. With a strong focus on governance, risk management, and continuous improvement, this role also helps strengthen project delivery practices across the organisation.
Working closely with business analysts, subject matter experts, and senior stakeholders, the Project Manager supports the development of business cases, coordinates resource, manages interdependencies, and ensures a successful handover of deliverables. This role is instrumental in achieving outcomes that enhance aviation safety and system performance.
The starting salary for the Project Manager within Corporate Services is between $115,536 and $141,751 pa. Starting salaries are to be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities.

Confident in engaging stakeholders and leading cross-functional project teams, you apply project management frameworks to maintain momentum and drive progress. Your strong planning skills, organisational ability, and proactive problem-solving enable you to manage timelines, navigate risks, and resolve issues effectively.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to show:
- 3+ years of experience in project management or leading complex project workstreams.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to lead project teams and coordinate cross-functional delivery.
- Confidence in using project management tools and techniques to deliver successful outcomes.
- Experience in planning and organising, including developing project schedules and delivery plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Being proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) is desirable but not essential.
