Mō te tūnga | About the role

We are looking for both permanent, full-time and fixed term (12 months), Property Officers to join our property team at Auckland Regional Womens Correctional Facility (ARWCF) in Wiri.

Property Officers are based at both our Front Reception desk and in the Receiving Office within the Facility. They are primarily responsible for overseeing the accurate collation, collection and recording of the property of the women we manage, as they arrive at and depart from our site and any property received or sent out.

The hours per week is 40 hours across rotating 8-hour rostered shifts. The shifts are across Monday to Sunday, this means that at times you will be rostered for a Saturday or a Sunday shift. Hours are 8am-5pm. We have free car-parking on-site, free access to our staff gym and an initial uniform allowance is supplied that will enable you to order Corrections clothing suitable for this role.

The salary range for this role is $62,217 - $65,934, and appointment for the successful candidate will be based on skills and experience relevant to the role.

Computer literacy and good attention to detail is paramount in this role as you will be entering a lot of data into the Departments computer database.

Success as a Property Officer will be dependent upon your;

  • Excellent work ethic including strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Sound working knowledge of MS Word/Excel and Outlook, with excellent written and verbal language skills
  • Good physical health as at times heavy lifting is required when managing property in our receiving area.
  • Great face-to-face people skills i.e. your ability to interact confidently and professionally with people from a diverse range of cultures
  • Understanding of our work environment and the safety protocols required
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly, follow instructions and having the courage to ask relevant questions
  • Team, solution and compliance focused
  • Ability to process data quickly with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Please note: the job description for this position has the general working title ‘Administration Support Officer'. This covers a variety of administrative positions across Corrections including Property Officers, and you may be required to undertake some or all of the duties noted according to operational requirements.  This can be varied within the overall Administration Support structure.
