Job Description

We're currently on the lookout for a reliable and detail-focused Quality Assurance Technologist to jump into a six month contract with one of our clients in the food manufacturing space. They're keen to bring someone on board who’s confident in their QA skills and ready to hit the ground running.
This is a full time role based in East Tamaki. This is a six month assignment
Here’s what you’ll be doing day to day:
  • Carrying out routine QA checks across the production line to ensure everything meets food safety and quality standards
  • Supporting with chemical and sensory testing to verify product quality and consistency
  • Performing cleaning verification and environmental swabbing to maintain hygiene and compliance
  • Monitoring shelf life performance and managing aged stock in line with quality procedures
  • Investigating non-conforming product, documenting findings, and working with the team to implement corrective actions
  • Conducting GMP audits, pre-start and post-production inspections, and escalating any issues as needed
  • Leading root cause analysis and supporting the implementation of preventative measures
  • Helping to prepare for BRC and internal audits by keeping records audit-ready and up to spec
  • Making sure all QA documentation, checks, and reports are accurate and completed on time
  • Pitching in with other QA related tasks or continuous improvement projects as directed by the Quality Manager
What we’re looking for:
  • A diploma (or similar) in Food Science, Food Technology, or something along those lines
  • A couple of years’ experience in a food manufacturing QA role
  • Hands on experience with internal audits and food safety systems
  • Great attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Someone who’s proactive, organised, and confident working independently
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
