This is an opportunity to make a difference within the Radiology department within Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals as an integral member of the Radiology team. The Radiographic assistant role (would suit someone with a nursing or Health Care Assistant (HCA) background) within the department is hugely varied and works closely with the Radiologists, Medical imaging technologists, sonographers and our nursing colleagues. The main duties involve:

  • Assist Radiologist team with Biopsy procedures
  • Helps manage workflow and bookings across the day/week in various imaging areas
  • Assistance in CT, Ultrasound, Breast and any other modality as requested
  • Necessary supplies are appropriately ordered and stocked
  • Procedure rooms are cleaned and tidied, any spills or waste appropriately cleaned up

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the service and care of our patients with additional opportunity for development within the department.

This role could be full time or part time - please state on your cover letter what hours you are seeking.  You will be part of the Radiographic Assistant team that covers both the Radiology Department at Wellington Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital.

The salary for this position is $72,000 to $82,000 depending on experience.

We are looking for candidates with an interest in patient care and strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will need basic patient care skills, a common sense approach to problem solving and an ability to work independently and in a small team.
