About the Role
The purpose of this role is to work with district teams to ensure services across the region are equitable, high-quality and sustainable. Focusing onto develop regional clinical service delivery models, ensuring services are equitable, high-quality and sustainable. This involves shifting from locally focused models to an integrated regional approach, to improve access and patient outcomes across the region.
Key responsibilities include contributing to regional service planning and implementation, leading collaborative efforts with district clinical and operational leads to optimize operational processes, and ensuring that changes are effectively managed and sustained. The role also involves implementing national service models to regional contexts, ensuring consistency while addressing local needs.
To succeed, the role requires strong leadership and programme management experience, especially in healthcare operations and change initiatives. The ability to build and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is essential. Strategic alignment with national healthcare priorities and structures is also critical to ensuring consistent, high-standard care delivery across the region.

About the Team
This role will be working alongside other Regional Programme Managers in the Te Manawa Taki regional office who will provide collegial support and will report to the Regional Programme Director, Hospital and Specialist Services Priorities. The team is located across the region so regular touch points will be established.
About you
The successful applicant will have significant recent experience in programme management with expertise in:
- Clinical service planning
- Programme management tools and reporting
- Ability to develop and document workplans from concept to implementation / operational plans
- Quality improvement and using data for improvement
- Change management and service improvement methodology
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written reporting
- Clinical background would be an advantage
