About the role

The Older Persons Mental Health team at Burwood Hospital is seeking an ECT Nurse, with experience in Older Persons Mental Health to work alongside the ECT Clinical Nurse Specialist, OPMH Staff, Consumers and in partnership with the SMHS ECT service and anaesthetic teams to ensure the safe provision of ECT. Your methodical, organised approach and exceptional interpersonal skills will see you succeed in this role as you coordinate, provide assessments and specific medical services to our consumers. Working collaboratively within a small team, within a larger service you will be confident in your ability to work under pressure and build successful therapeutic relationships in this diverse and specialised role.

About You

If you are a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse, with Older Persons Mental Health experience, or a passion for Mental Health, we would love to hear from you. The successful candidate will be a confident practitioner with the ability to work both autonomously and cohesively within our Multi-disciplinary Teams. Exceptional assessment skills and brief intervention skills will be required. If you can also remain calm when under pressure and competently perform dynamic risk assessment in a variety of situations you will likely fit well within our teams. 

Skills and experience

  • You - ll be an experienced Registered Nurse with the ability to work well under pressure within a multidisciplinary team.
  • You will be a confident practitioner with exceptional patient assessment skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence and ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
  • A demonstrated passion for mental health and dementia work
