Contract: Part Time/Fixed Term Maternity leave cover 0.6 - for a year

About the role

You will be working in maternity to provide specialist breastfeeding support to mothers and babies in the postnatal ward and birthing suite as well as helping to run a weekly drop in centre. 

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our close-knit team of Lactation Consultants work together to optimise the breastfeeding support in the postnatal wards, birthing suite and the community through drop in centres. They will work with breastfeeding whānau to help initiate breastfeeding successfully, build milk supply and other more complex issues such as thrush, mastitis and reduced tongue function. Proficiency in assessment of tongue tie would be beneficial but not essential. 

Our friendly team communicate with well to meet the needs of our breastfeeding whānau.

About you

You will be an IBCLC qualified LC with a current APC as a Registered Midwife or Registered Nurse. You will possess great interpersonal skills and be team player, with a passion for assisting women to reach their breastfeeding goals leading to the best outcomes for both mother and baby.
