About the role

The Breast Care Services team is based within the Outpatients Department at Southland Hospital. This small, friendly team provides essential and specialised breast care to both inpatients and outpatients. We are fortunate to work alongside a dedicated and dynamic multidisciplinary team that includes clinical nurse specialists, administration staff, consultants, registrars, and radiology professionals.

Your role as a registered nurse within the Breast Care Service will primarily focus on patient education and support.

Other aspects of the role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting with outpatient clinics
  • Contributing to quality improvement within the service
  • Providing ongoing surveillance and care coordination for breast care patients with a cancer diagnosis
  • Collaborating with the wider multi-professional team and related services to ensure the best outcomes for the Southern population
  • Working towards establishing nurse-led clinics

In this role, you will be supported to complete a postgraduate qualification in breast care and will work alongside a team that truly values point-of-contact education and support.
