About the Role

This is more than just a job – it's an opportunity to be at the frontline of urgent and critical care.  A permanent part-time working 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week) position is available in our Emergency Department based at Whakatāne hospital, providing a chance to develop and expand your acute care skills in a high-energy, team-driven environment.

As a part of the team you will work alongside an exceptional multidisciplinary team, including Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, experienced Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Clerical Staff, and the medical team.  A comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development will provide the support needed to excel in this essential service.

About you

An adaptable, quick-thinking, and team-oriented nurse with a passion for emergency care will thrive in this role.  Previous acute care experience is beneficial, but those eager to learn and grow in a high-paced setting are also encouraged to apply.  

What you will bring:

  • Current New Zealand Nursing Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Previous Emergency or Acute Care experience (preferred).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to navigate high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
