About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in our General and Vascular Surgery Ward, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include pre- and post-operative care, wound management, pain control, and collaborating closely with surgeons and allied health professionals to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role that will allow you to work in a fast-paced surgical environment, expand your clinical skills, and be part of a team that truly makes a difference.

About you

You are a compassionate and clinically competent Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and is committed to delivering excellent patient care. You’ll be someone who demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to challenges.

Your ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a high standard of care will be key to your success in this role. You are confident in your clinical judgement, calm under pressure, and always focused on the needs of your patients and their whānau.

You will also bring:

  • A current New Zealand Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate
  • Recent experience in an acute, surgical, or hospital-based setting (or strong interest in surgical nursing with a willingness to learn)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong therapeutic relationships
  • Strong assessment, planning, and prioritisation skills, with a focus on safe, evidence-based practice
  • A commitment to culturally safe care and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, with a genuine desire to support equitable outcomes for Māori
  • A team-focused attitude and a passion for continuous improvement and professional development
