About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at Kaitaia Hospital, you will be working within the General Ward providing quality nursing care and support to patients, utilising your professional knowledge and skill, to provide a holistic approach of nursing care that is safe and of the highest quality possible.  

The care you give will enhance the outcomes for patients through education, liaison, case management, co-coordinating the treatment and discharge planning processes for patients.  

About the Team/Service/Location

Kaitaia Hospital is Health New Zealand's northernmost hospital. It is a general hospital serving a widely scattered population. The 20 bed hospital has a general ward, maternity and emergency ward with all the supporting services, and provides a substantial community health service.

About you

As a Registered Nurse, you need to have excellent communication skills, who can thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in the face of changing priorities.

  • Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Practicing Certificate
  • The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • A personal commitment to ongoing learning and development
  • A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Maori

Previous experience in a rural clinical setting would be beneficial, however not essential to apply.
