About the role

Based at Hillmorton Hospital, Kennedy is a 6-bed inpatient unit providing specialist medical withdrawal management and stabilisation for people across the South Island  seeking treatment for  alcohol and /or substance dependence.

We are seeking an engaged and motivated Registered Nurse, who will work collaboratively with a consumer centered approach to add value, expertise and energy to this stable and cohesive team.

About You

You will have exceptional communication, interpersonal skills and a commitment to quality patient care and education. You will build successful relationships with consumers and their families/whanau, which will be key to your success in this role and will enable you to achieve optimum outcomes. You will be reliable and conscientious and have a genuine interest in this exciting specialty within mental health. 

Previous experience in mental health, and specific experience working with alcohol and drug addictions is desirable. 

This is a fixed term 0.94 FTE role available until 02/11/2025, that follow a 4 days on, 2 days off roster pattern (encompassing a rotating roster of morning, afternoon and night shifts).

Would also consider a secondment opportunity.
