Salary: NZNO MECA Step Registered Nurse $75,773 - $106,739

About the Role
- We have an exciting opportunity in our busy Outpatient Department for a Registered Nurse. We are looking for an experienced nurse to join the Ophthalmology Team
We are looking for an experienced Ophthalmology Nurse who is able to apply their nursing knowledge and skills for direct care and to influence the care of other clinicians, with the role impacting on high quality clinical care and equitable health outcomes.
We have some exciting initiatives commencing in Ophthalmology, which includes nurse-led clinics, pre-assessment and assisting with the co-ordination of patients waiting for Ophthalmology surgery at Hutt Hospital.
You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to negotiate with key stakeholders in a busy and dynamic environment.
We are looking for an Registered Nurse who are looking for a long term commitment who are keen to develop their skills and knowledge
About the Team/Service/ Location
Outpatients covers various specialities including; Gynaecology, Surgical, Medical, Pre-assessment, ENT, Eyes and Orthopaedics. We have a happy supportive team who work together to achieve the best outcomes for our people and their families.
We have some exciting times ahead of us in Outpatients, with new initiatives within the Department
About you
As an excellent communicator, you will have a positive, enthusiastic, innovative and proactive approach that exudes confidence. You will be team focused and have an adaptable approach to your work.
You will show sensitivity in different situations as you will be dealing with a wide range of people including members of the public and hospital staff. You will need to have an understanding of the Privacy Act.
In order to be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Knowledge and experience in the New Zealand Health Care Setting
- An ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple priorities
- Competence in using computers
- An ability to quickly learn new web based clinical applications as required for the role
- A passion for working in an Outpatient Setting
- Excellent time management skills and communication skills
- Experience in working with a multi-disciplinary team
- A sensitive approach to individualising care
- Excellent cultural awareness and safety
- Resilience in a very busy environment
- Ophthalmology Experience
