About the Role
We are looking for a senior registered nurse who may have experience working within the community or looking for a challenge. The paediatric/ SCBU outreach nurse will providing expert nursing care and support to children and neonates within their home and community setting.
The outreach nurse will provide skilled holistic nursing assessment, care and evaluation for children and neonates to ensure continuity of care between hospital and home to maintain wellbeing. Lead and participate in quality improvements and provide clinical leadership within the speciality focus of community care.
The role combines clinical expertise, teaching, whanau support and multi-agency collaboration making it a dynamic rewarding and deeply impactful area of nursing.
About the Team/Service/ Location
We are a team of 25 consisting of Registered Nurses, Paediatricians, Health Care Assistants and Administration.
We are a diverse team who care for children and new borns at their most vulnerable stages, working directly to contribute to their recovery, development and long-term health.
About you
- Minimum 5 years paediatrics and or neonatal experience
- The ability to work autonomously managing time and case load
- Advanced critical thinking and autonomous decision making
- Confidence to responding to emergencies outside of the Hospital unit
- Advanced assessment skills, able to identify early signs of deterioration
